As well as maintaining regular checks on our outsourced production teams to make sure they too are a complying with our policies and the care of their staff.
Encouragement into the sector
The technical skills used in the fashion industry are unfortunately dwindling, a country once renowned for its fashion manufacturing and textiles is now suffering. With more people aiming for the glamorous idea of design, media or marketing rather than manufacturing, finding suppliers in the UK is harder than ever. At Vidou we value these skills and want to celebrate them. Working with suppliers and manufacturing based in the UK as much as we can to ensure that our products carry that special feeling of our home. We actively work to create programs to incentivise individuals to go into textile and garment production at home and bring back the quality and craftsmanship that we're known for.
Alas, not everything can be made at home and sometimes we have to adventure elsewhere to find the artisans and materials we need to maintain our level of quality. We carefully forage for the talents our designs call for that are found in other incredible countries with beautifully crafted pieces and share their creativity in our little world.
